FIRESIDE CONVERSATIONS
Come as you are, leave grounded
A cosy hour of writing, mindfulness and making life yours again
with AuDHD author, Abigail Yardimci

A one to one hour on Zoom with me, where you don't have to explain yourself, perform, or get it "right." Just bring yourself, a bit of creative curiosity and we'll find our way back to what's true for you. One quiet word at a time.
No preparation, no performance, no pressure. Just an hour to slow down, write, and hear yourself again.
Life asks a lot of us, doesn't it? We juggle, we adapt, we show up as whatever version of ourselves the moment demands. Somewhere in all that shape-shifting, it's easy to lose track of the voice that's actually yours.
You don't need a big overhaul. Or a long-term commitment. Sometimes all it takes is an hour. A quiet space, a pen, and someone gently fanning the fire for you.
That's a Fireside Conversation. An hour that's just for you, to slow down, put pen to paper, and come home to yourself.
WHAT A FIRESIDE CONVERSATION ACTUALLY IS
Picture a beach fire at night. Sand still warm, sky doing its thing, and two strangers telling each other the truth they'd never say in daylight (fans of the Life is Yours books will know the scene 😉).
That's the energy I want for this hour. Not polite tea and small talk. A fire, a bit of warmth, and permission to let the chat flow.
Built around three things, each one quietly holding up the others:
1.) Mindfulness
2.) Creative writing
3.) Proper open-hearted chat

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE HOUR

Arriving
A short guided mindfulness practice to help you settle into your body and step out of the rush of the day.
Noticing
I won't ask you to talk it all through. I'll offer visual prompts instead, images and cards, so you can point to what's present for you without needing the big explanation.
Writing
Gentle, guided prompts to help you get beneath the surface. No grammar, no spelling, no "good writing." Just your words, in your own first language. We'll write together so you don't feel like the spotlight is on you.
Chatting
A proper fireside chat about what came up. Honest, warm, unhurried, like talking to a friend who actually listens. You're always in charge of how much you share.
Meditation
A grounding practice to close, so you leave calmer, clearer, and more yourself than when you arrived.
HOW PEOPLE SAY THEY FEEL AFTERWARDS

THIS IS FOR YOU IF...
✦ You spend a lot of your day masking, translating or shape-shifting for other people
✦ You're tired of the safe but hollow version of yourself and want to hear your real voice again
✦ You'd like a proper conversation without it turning into an hour of picking yourself apart
✦ You fancy exploring working with me in a gentle, low-commitment way
✦ You'd like a regular, cosy check-in with yourself. One that's actually just for you
🔥 WHAT THIS ISN'T...🔥
Fireside Conversations aren't therapy or counselling, and I'm not a mental health clinician. They're a creative, mindful space to reconnect with yourself.
If you're going through a crisis or need specialist support, please reach out to your GP or a mental health service.
WHY WORK WITH ME?
Hi, I'm Abigail. AuDHD Author of five novels, two self-care journals and a poetry collection. Trained mindfulness teacher. Someone who's spent years supporting people through creativity, including as a peer support worker and community artist.
I know from the inside what it's like to lose track of your own voice. Writing is how I keep finding mine. Fireside Conversations are my way of sharing that with you, gently and without pressure.

QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE
Do I need to be "a writer"?
Not at all. If you can put words on a page (or type them), you can do this. Nobody sees your writing unless you choose to share it.
What if I don't know what to talk about?
That's fine, you don't need to. The mindfulness and visual prompts help you settle, the writing helps you find the words, the chat flows naturally from there.
What do I need?
A quiet-ish space, a device with Zoom, a notebook and pen (or your laptop, if you prefer typing). A cup of tea is strongly encouraged (I can do in-person sessions if you live close to me in Brixham!).
Do I have to keep my camera on?
Do whatever feels comfortable for you.
How do I book a time?
Once you've paid, I'll email you to sort a date.
You don't have to have it all figured out to come and sit by the fire.
Come as you are. Leave grounded.
