A gentle, neurodivergent-friendly space. Come as you are

NOVEMBER'S THEME . . .

For our very first gathering, we're starting at the beginning. The heart of it all.

What does it actually mean to follow your heart when you've spent years following everyone else's shopping list, school run and to-do pile? And how do you find your voice when you've been speaking in other people's for so long?

Together, we'll listen inwards, notice what's actually true, and let our words lead us home.

WHEN DID YOU LAST HEAR YOUR OWN VOICE?

Not the one you use at work, or the one you use at the school gate. Not the one that chirps "no worries!" when actually, there are worries. So many bloody worries.

The one underneath. Your real one.

Honest moment. It's probably been a while. You're the one reading the room before you've even sat in it, saying yes when your whole body's screaming no, juggling everyone else's packed lunches and deadlines and feelings until there's no room left for your own. Somewhere in the shenanigans of adulting, the writing or drawing or daydreaming just stopped.

It costs you more than you think. A tiredness sleep doesn't touch. Feeling lonely in a house full of people, because none of them have met the real you, only the version who keeps the whole show running.

You're not broken, love. You've just been everyone else's safe pair of hands for so long, you've lost touch with your own.

Onwards . . .

IMAGINE COMING HOME TO YOURSELF

No one needing anything from you. Nothing to explain, perform or get right.

An hour to breathe a bit deeper, notice what's actually true, and put it into words, however messy, for no one but you.

And then, if you fancy it, hearing your words land alongside people who just get it. No explaining required.

That's what this hour's for. It won't fix everything (nothing fixes everything, let's be honest). But it'll remind you your voice is still in there, and that it's worth listening to.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE HOUR

This isn't a course

No homework, no pressure, nothing to keep up with. Just one hour, once a month, that's entirely yours.

πŸŒ™ Arrive

Settle in with soft music. Cameras and mics optional, watching from the sofa in your PJs counts as fully taking part.

🌬️ Settle

A gentle guided mindfulness practice, bringing you out of your head and back into your heart.

πŸ“– Inspire

I'll share a reading, a poem or a passage picked for the month's theme, and a few thoughts on what it stirs up.

✍️ Write

Gentle, layered prompts and quiet time to write. Not a writer? A list, a doodle or just thinking it through all count.

πŸ”₯ Gather

If you fancy it, drop a line in the chat. I'll read everyone's lines back as one collective poem, your voice woven in among the rest. We close with a small practice to carry into your month.

You'll leave calmer, a few pages richer, and reminded that being heard doesn't require an explanation.

THIS IS FOR YOU IF...

😩 You're tired of being the version of yourself that keeps the house running and everyone else comfortable

😣 You're an exhausted parent (or partner, or go-to person, or all three) juggling more than any one person should

🧠 You're neurodivergent, or think you might be, and you're craving a space where you don't have to mask

✍️ You'd love to write but feel rusty, blocked or unsure where to start

πŸ”— You want to feel part of something without having to be "on"

THIS ISN'T FOR YOU IF...

πŸ₯ You're looking for therapy or crisis support (this is a creative wellbeing space, not a clinical one, so please go to your GP or a mental health professional for that)

🧐 You want writing critique

🧢 You want a straightforward craft workshop

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Abi πŸ‘‹

I've spent a fair chunk of my life shapeshifting, becoming whoever the room needed, so everyone else could stay comfortable (working-class family, chronic illness, multicultural marriage, late ADHD and autism diagnosis in my forties, the lot. I come by this honestly).

Writing is the thing that's always brought me back to my own language. Five novels, two self-care journals and a poetry collection in, I'm still relearning it. I'm also a trained mindfulness teacher and have a background in mental health support.

I built The Heart & Voice Hour so you've got somewhere to come home to yours too. Cameras optional. Cuppa mandatory, in spirit.

FAQs

Do I have to have my camera on?

Not at all. Cameras and mics are completely optional. Plenty of people prefer to just listen and absorb.

Do I have to share my writing?

Never. Dropping a line in the chat is entirely optional, and your notebook can stay private.

I'm not a "writer". Is this still for me?

Absolutely. There's no right way to do it here. Spelling, grammar and "good writing" don't come into it.

Is it neurodivergent-friendly?

Yes. Same gentle rhythm every month, so you know what to expect. Prompts appear on screen as well as spoken. No being put on the spot. Take part however works for your brain and body that day.

What happens to the lines I share in the chat?

They might be woven into the collective poem, which I read aloud at the end and may share afterwards, no names attached. Want it private? Just don't post it.

Will there be a replay?

No. Live only, so the space stays safe and the words shared stay with the people who were there.

What if I can't make it?

Bookings are non-refundable. Let me know at least 48 hours before and I'll happily move your place to the following month.

Your voice is still in there.

Come and find it.

One hour.

No pressure.

No performing.

Just you, your heart, and a space for people who get it.

P.S. If you've been feeling a pull to slow down, write again, or just feel more like yourself, that's your heart talking. This is your invitation to listen. 🧑

Booking terms: By booking, you acknowledge that the session takes place within the 14-day cancellation period, so your booking is non-refundable once confirmed. You can move your place to the following month with at least 48 hours’ notice.
